ReLeaf is a gamified social platform designed to encourage environmentally responsible behaviour by providing users with daily environmental challenges that contribute toward awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To provide our services, ReLeaf collects the following information:

• Name (this may be a display name and does not have to be your real name)
• Username
• Email address

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as your race, religion, political opinions, health information, or biometric data.

2. Authentication

User authentication is provided using Firebase Authentication. Your email address is used solely to create and manage your account and to securely authenticate your identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Authenticate your identity.
• Display your profile within the application.
• Allow participation in daily environmental challenges.
• Maintain your points, achievements, streaks, and leaderboard rankings.
• Support friendships and social interactions.
• Provide avatar and profile customization.

4. Data Storage

Your information is securely stored using Google Firebase Firestore. Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are implemented to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

5. Social Features

Because ReLeaf includes social functionality, certain information may be visible to other users of the application, including:

• Your display name.
• Your username.
• Your avatar.
• Your points and leaderboard position.
• Your environmental challenge progress where applicable.

Your email address is never displayed publicly to other users.

6. Third-Party Services

ReLeaf relies on the following Google Firebase services:

• Firebase Authentication
• Cloud Firestore

These services process information only to provide authentication and secure cloud storage.

7. Analytics and Advertising

ReLeaf does not use advertising networks, behavioural tracking, or third-party analytics services.

Your information is retained while your account remains active or as required to comply with legal obligations.

If you are located within the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

The legal basis for processing your personal data is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits processing necessary for providing the services you request by creating and maintaining your ReLeaf account.
